Bridesmaid Trends from Beth at Bridal Chateau

When looking at a wedding, you see countless hours that a couple has invested in pulling together a culmination of their personalities, tastes, aesthetic preferences, and their personal relationships. As a bride is finishing their look, the icing on the cake is what their bridesmaids will be wearing. It is that finishing touch that pulls everything together. As a result of this, we have seen the idea of bridesmaids styling take a lot of inspiration from the brides themselves.

A bridal gown can be one of the most expressive garments a bride can wear. This idea has really allowed the bride to want to give freedom to the bridesmaids as well. We’ve seen a huge shift in mixing and matching styles, colors, and textures. Some brides will choose a color and let the maids order anything that comes in that shade. A mixture of chiffons, velvets, satins, and crepes create depth and contrast, while cohesively working together.  Others choose a palette to work from and let the masterpiece come together as each person chooses their own style. We love working with each group to identify and help create their vision.

Another emerging trend has been to choose one gown for all of the bridesmaids and then create an ombre effect by choosing several coordinating hues to mix with. This allows the bride to have more free range in her color schemes as she applies them to the rest of the wedding. The addition of muted tones have made for these palettes to work together flawlessly.

Bridesmaid style trends are also taking a cue from bridal. We are seeing cut outs, slits, soft and flowy fabrics and even jumpsuits being offered in our collections. It allows the most complimenting flow of bringing all of the styles together into photo worthy collage.

We love working with our bridesmaids at Bridal Chateau. Our inclusive in-stock selection offers styles in sizes 0-34 and up to 47 colors to choose from, which gives us the flexibility to create our customer’s wedding vision.
